Frank Nazar was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks with the 13th overall pick in 2022. He’s another 5’10” player who I believe will make it in the NHL. His 12 goals and 14 assists in 53 games was a start. He could have stayed up, but Chicago wanted one last tank.
I always update my files on players, and this was one while he was playing in Michigan.
He’s fast and elusive. Can pass at speed. Not as freewheeling against NCAA teams. Finds loose pucks in the offensive zone.
He’s faster and stronger than he used to be and that’s showing on the ice. I talked about him with the Prospect Don recently.
I think he can play center in the NHL. If they’re looking for him to be more offensive, then they might play him on the wing. Nazar was 48% on face-offs last year, something to keep an eye on. Either way, I think he’s a top six talent.
