Ethan Sung plays for the Clark Cup Champion Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL. The 5-8 forward has speed and skill and he’s smart. He’s a smart player and he knows how to find open space on the ice.
“I try to find that, but also, like, when the year, you’re, like, reading it or I try to kind of throw them off, goal, and then the last second cutout, it works a lot, I love it,” Sung stated. “I try to find another way in my game, kind of like acting like I’m not there. Like, just, so deep, so they think, ‘oh, who is this?’ Like, what is he doing?” Then just last second blitzing by.”
He was born in Los Angeles and played for the Jr. Kings. Representing his country like he did in the Hlinka (4-2, 5 GP) was an honor.
“It’s definitely an honor, just anytime you wear anything for your country, playing, and just having an opportunity to go out and show it is amazing,” said Sung.
He is committed to Wisconsin next season.
“Like everything was perfectly clean, all the coaching staff were amazing and welcoming.”
His goal for the season is simple.
“Winning another Clark Cup. Going back-to-back, something that has been done in many years,” Sung said. “That’s the standard.”
His skating and ability to get past defenders has me watching him closely in his draft year.
