Day 4 Notes from the 2024 USHL Fall Classic

Here are my final notes. Look for some features that will be coming down the line.

Jack Galanek – LW – Muskegon – He’s 2025 NHL Draft eligible. He was a top-line left wing. I loved his play on the penalty kill. He’s fast. He scored a nice goal with speed. He attempted a knife-edge shot that almost fooled the goalie. Looks like a guy who might go in the top 64.

Tynan Lawrence – C – Muskegon – He’s 2026 NHL Draft eligible. He played top-line center. I liked what I saw on the power play. He was able to create a breakaway chance on his own that he didn’t bury because of a nice save. He got a nice assist in one game. He will only get better before his draft year.

Conrad Fondrk – LW – On the NTDP, he was playing fourth-line left wing. He got a nice assist on a creative setup pass. And a left-hand shot, he has the hammer on the power play and relishes that position. He made creative touch passes on the power play. A team like the Flyers are probably tracking him for the 2025 NHL Draft.

Charlie Trethewey – D – He was playing second-pairing defense. He’s 2025 NHL Draft eligible. He’s an everything defenseman with a right-hand shot. Smooth skating rearguard with a heavy wrist shot. He got a point in the first game and can play in all situations. A top-15 pick unless something drastically changes and he can move up.

Cole McKinney – He was playing fourth-line center, but he was the best center in the game. Again, the NTDP shifts around the guys. He had a sweet backhand goal and another on the power play. Like his speed and power-play ability. Looks like a potential top-10 selection in the 2025 NHL Draft.

That’s all for now.
