Dominik Badinka was the 34th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. Did the Carolina Hurricanes get a steal? I’m not sure that steal is the right word but great value is probably correct.
Here is my take:
A right shot who takes good angles. He has pushback and, lays some hits. He’s an excellent backward skater. He can find the high corners and has good edge work. I love his breakout. Where’s the offense?
He has NHL ability. If he can find some scoring this is a slam-dunk pick. If not, it’s still a terrific pick.
